Partypoker announces the launch of poker NFTs, developed in conjunction with Theta Labs for poker’s first integrated NFT platform. partypoker is giving poker fans the chance to own a piece of partypoker history by releasing its first official non-exchangeable tokens (NFTs).
For those who don’t know what they are, NFTs are unique non-exchangeable digital authenticity certificates that can include items such as artwork, music, videos or tweets. Using the latest technology, partypoker gives the poker community an exciting poker experience.
NFT by partypoker will showcase some of the most iconic moments and tournament giveaways in partypoker and partypoker LIVE history, and some of them will involve special PokerApes. PokerApes will be a series of high-definition images – completely three-dimensional and unique.
Developed in collaboration with Theta Labs
NFT was co-developed with Theta Labs, which was one of the first companies to engage in blockchain-based video. Theta provides the infrastructure for decentralized video and supports the NFT and Metaverse platforms.
What makes this partnership unique is that players will see NFT offered by the online poker platform for the first time. The partypoker trading platform will have an initial sale of new NFTs and a secondary trading platform where users can trade NFTs.
This is the first phase of a broad partnership between Entain and Theta Labs brands. NFTs will be developed for brands across the group, and Entain’s technologists will work with Theta to further leverage the technology for streaming video, Metaverse, games and more.
Theta is one of the first partners working with Ennovate (an innovation center in London soon to be launched by Entain). Ennovate is investing up to £100 million in technology projects, including many with British and global partners, and about £40 million will be allocated specifically for the UK.
Vadim Soloveitchik, director of partypoker, said: “Partypoker has a 20-year history full of great hands and epic poker moments during our live and online events. We are excited to give players the opportunity to own their own piece of poker history in partnership with Theta. I’m very excited for partypoker to join the NFT space.”
